Park Lane’s New Star

I was invited to preview the rooftop spa at the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane in Mayfair this week. This superb new amenity is on the hotel’s top 10th floor and enjoys panoramic views over Hyde Park, Park Lane and central London.

Architect Eric Parry’s sleek and contemporary design is a pleasing combination of dark oak, glass walls, light stone floors and sensual curves, which creates a flowing and airy environment. There are with nine treatment rooms including an ultra-luxurious double suite with 180° views, and all have individual relaxation pods where guests can flop out in privacy after their treatments  – a winning idea all spas should take up!

Guests can order refreshments and spa lunches, which are served in the chic 10th floor lounge, where floor to ceiling windows open out onto an attractive balcony area.

A Fitness Centre adjoins the spa with state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment plus motivating views of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. Both the men’s and women’s changing areas are impressive, having separate large vitality pools, steam rooms and saunas as well as fabulous experience showers, heated floors and other comforts.

Top brands ESPA, The Organic Pharmacy and Omorovicza will be used in a wide range of treatments, including the spa’s exclusively designed Signature Rituals.

Such exclusive luxury doesn’t come cheap – the extensive spa menu shows that facials and body treatments cost over £100, while The Sky’s The Limit package – 12 hours of pampering for two in the spa’s exclusive Sky Suite with breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and dinner – is an eye-watering £6000.
