August regrets

 

 

This has been an extraordinarily busy and challenging summer, but one almost bereft of travel. And for the first time since starting this blog back in 2009, I missed writing an entry in July.

I had my surgery, which  laid me low unexpectedly for a few weeks. I wasn’t up to writing anything other than finishing my report on European health and wellness tourism. What a fascinating topic that proved to be.  Seems all areas of Europe – particularly Eastern Europe – have an extraordinary wealth and variety of traditional cures and wellness traditions. I couldn’t resist posting this image of Karlovy Vary,  the Czech Republic’s leading spa town, which is  blessed with an abundance of curative springs and stunning architecture. I’ve been several times and it’s an inspiring place – even if the curative waters taste foul!

I’ll be resuming my travels from this weekend (30th August)  – first with a belated trip to lovely Spain followed by other exciting itineraries planned in the coming months. I’ll also add details to some of my earlier entries in the year along with some colourful images, so watch this space!
