Taking the worry out of frown lines

In London again to try The Frown Treatment, an Environ facial, designed to soften facial frown lines without the use of toxin injections.

At Peach on the Hill, a small beauty salon in Notting Hill, therapist Gosha shows me down to a cosy treatment room. Her radiant complexion says much for the efficacy of the Environ products. She explains that my facial will use low frequency sound waves and a pulsed galvanic current to help the active ingredients in the products penetrate into my skin.

Environ Frown Treatment

I relax on a heated treatment bed as my skin is thoroughly cleansed and toned before the Focus Frown Serum and another serum with vitamins A and C is applied. Gosha then presses a small probe around my eye and frown areas for about ten minutes. This emits a low-frequency sound wave and feels like a tiny pinprick but is not unpleasant.

After this a cool and hydrating mask is painted over the same area and electrodes attached to deliver a pulsed galvanic current for a further ten minutes. With the mask in place, my neck and shoulders are given a most enjoyable massage.

Peeling off the mask

After the electrodes are removed, the facemask is peeled off and my fresher looking skin is revealed. Although my frown lines are still there they seem a bit softer and my expression seems more relaxed.

Of course, I only had one session and for best results, a minimum of six treatments is recommended, ideally one or two a week to enhance the longevity of the effects. Clients can also continue the treatment at home with the Focus Frown Serum  – which costs £119, but is highly effective at softening muscle activity in a non-evasive way. The salon has many clients who have stopped having Botox and now prefer this treatment for its excellent and non-invasive results.
